basically wanting to lower my car but not with coilovers, just to close the arch gap but not to the point where it scrubs the arches when you hit a pothole lol
I have a 2006 Vvts on 17" alloys (will attach pic)

just want people's opinions on whether lowering springs are a good or bad idea, what mm drop will be best and what brand people recommend

any help will be appreciated :)

45mm Apex springs commonly done, you wont have an issue.

I second the springs from CTC Performance, I have 40mm Cobra springs atm from them and can't fault them, they are lovely people to deal with aswell!

what size wheels are those? that's exactly how I want mine, not too low but not on stilts like it is atm lol, think I'll be getting those springs then.
but some are saying if springs are cheap like those they are usually crap. is this the case?

Those are 17 inch which are standard on a swift sport. You may not achieve quite the same height because I believe the sport shock absorbers maybe different to the normal swift ones so may not drop it quite as much, someone else will be able to confirm that.

I don't have any problems with my springs personally. As long as you understand that with lowering the car you will lose comfort to a certain extent. I certainly wouldn't go for pro street springs which are cheap at around £75 because you will be able to tell a difference but in my opinion, both apex 30mm or 45mm or cobra 40mm springs would all be a good choice as a mid range spring

Sport shocks and springs are different from standard swifts anyway, with a slight difference in ride height as standard (think 10mm) So no it wont look exactly the same.
The apex springs are cheap because chris @ ctc does deals for us on swiftowners, he makes 0 pence profit on them and purely does it because he wants to keep us coming back to him. This is why you wont find apex cheaper elsewhere. And if anybody calls Apex cheap and crap please slap them for me

Ignore capt and isabelle, the cobras are for the new shape so dont get confused :) .
Apex is what you want. Springs wont be as uncomfortable as the lupos coilies dont worry :)

Dropped mine only 35mm, so as you can that 45mm will be absolutely no problem and apex from Chris are the way to go....
